ExxonMobil Guyana said operations aboard the Liza Unity floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel have returned to normal following a small fire on Sunday.
“Operations have returned to normal, and the offloading which was temporarily interrupted has now been completed,” Exxon said in an August 25 update.
The company had reported on August 23 that heat detectors aboard the Liza Unity were activated in the laundry room of the vessel’s living quarters, indicating a small fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished, according to Exxon.
The company said appropriate response procedures were initiated and all personnel aboard the FPSO were safe and accounted for.
Operations were suspended following the incident while checks were carried out. Exxon had said operations would resume once those checks were completed.
The temporary interruption also affected an offloading operation, which Exxon has now confirmed was completed.
Liza Unity is one of four FPSOs currently producing crude oil offshore Guyana. It operates at the Liza field and has a production capacity of about 270,000 barrels per day.
