TOTALTEC Inc., a 100% Guyanese-owned company, has unveiled a new multi-sector e-learning platform aimed at equipping Guyanese workers with internationally accredited skills. The initiative targets key industries crucial to the country’s economic growth, including hospitality, construction, oil and gas, industrial, and operations and maintenance.

TOTALTEC in its Oct. 18 announcement via LinkedIn said the platform offers comprehensive courses tailored to Guyana’s evolving workforce needs:

  • Hospitality: Focus on customer service, food and beverage management, and front office skills.
  • Construction: Training in trades like carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical work, emphasizing safety.
  • Oil & Gas: Courses on drilling, production, maintenance, and HSE, aligned with global standards.
  • Industrial: Skills development in manufacturing, quality control, and safety protocols.
  • Operations & Maintenance: Instruction on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

“TOTALTEC is dedicated to the ‘One Guyana’ vision,” said Lars Mangal, Chief Executive Officer of TOTALTEC Inc. “Our e-learning platform is a powerful tool for upskilling all Guyanese, regardless of their location, and creating pathways to enhanced employment opportunities.”

In addition to the e-learning platform, TOTALTEC said it provides hands-on vocational training at its 80,000 sq. ft. facility in Georgetown, next to the Guyana Shore Base (GYSBI). The e-learning packages are available to government institutions, the general public, and private sector entities, both in Guyana and internationally.
