The Suriname Energy, Oil & Gas Summit and Exhibition (SEOGS) 2025 returns this week with its largest and most comprehensive edition yet, bringing together regional and international energy leaders, policymakers and technical experts for four days of strategic dialogue and collaboration.

Hosted at Roeli’s Event Venue from June 17 to 20, the summit takes place at a pivotal time for Suriname’s oil and gas sector, as the country moves beyond exploration and prepares for its first offshore development phase.

This year’s theme, “A New Dawn,” reflects Suriname’s shift from potential to progress. With the Final Investment Decision on the GrandMorgu project in Block 58 already announced and further discoveries anticipated, attention is turning to the commercial, regulatory and infrastructural foundations required supporting long-term growth.

The opening day will feature keynote remarks from Staatsolie CEO Annand Jagesar, TotalEnergies’ Javier Rielo and PETRONAS Vice President Mohd Redhani Abdul Rahman. The Leadership Dialogues will explore the changing geopolitical landscape, investment competitiveness across the Atlantic Margin and Suriname’s positioning within global energy dynamics.

A dedicated session on the GrandMorgu project will dive into the size, scope and strategic importance of the development, with speakers from TotalEnergies, TechnipFMC, SAIPEM, SBM Offshore and Noble Corporation. Their insights will be complemented by presentations on upstream greenhouse gas emissions, liquefied natural gas export opportunities and midstream gas infrastructure – all pointing to the central role gas is expected to play in Suriname’s energy transition.

The Ministerial Roundtable on the second day will bring together regional energy ministers and representatives from multilateral institutions, who will discuss the delicate balance between energy security, decarbonization and economic development. At the same time, technical sessions will explore digital transformation, cyber security and Suriname’s emerging role as a gas producer. Presentations will range from offshore exploration to infrastructure planning, with insights from S&P Global, Shell, Siemens Energy and the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago.

In line with its future-oriented focus, SEOGS 2025 will also highlight the intersection of technology, sustainability and local capacity building. Topics such as carbon markets and machine learning in drilling operations will be explored in depth. Several sessions will address the country’s ongoing efforts to build resilient infrastructure and strengthen local content frameworks, with contributions from local and international businesses, government officials and development agencies.

From targeted master classes and panel discussions to B2B lounges, cocktail mixers and a final networking reception, SEOGS 2025 combines content and connectivity in equal measure. For Suriname and its regional partners, the summit is not only a showcase it’s a platform for strategy, investment and regional leadership in the global energy transition.
