Guyana Deep Water Operations Incorporated (GDO), a subsidiary of SBM Offshore, is seeking information from qualified suppliers in Guyana to support the testing, calibration and recertification of equipment used aboard three floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels operating offshore.

The request for information (RFI), published on Guyana’s Local Content Register on July 1, is intended to identify companies capable of supporting the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, and Prosperity FPSOs. Responses are due by August 1.

The work covers equipment inspections and certification onboard the FPSOs, as well as the transportation of equipment to shore-based facilities for testing and recertification before it is returned for service offshore.

“The SUPPLIER shall, as a minimum requirement, demonstrate proven experience in the execution of calibration services; the availability of a local laboratory; qualified personnel for calibration activities, including offshore operations; the provision of daily reports, inspection reports and calibration certificates; full compliance with applicable HSE [health, safety and environment] standards and offshore operational requirements; and the supply of all necessary PPE [personal protective equipment] and tooling required for the proper execution of the services,” SBM Offshore stated in the RFI.

GDO said the RFI will help refine the scope of a future request for quotation (RFQ) while allowing the company to identify qualified bidders in advance.

“The RFI process provides you with an opportunity to begin developing your responses to some of the potential requirements if you are selected for the RFQ. Finally, depending on responses from you and the other participants, the Company may unbundle the services described in this RFI and in a future RFQ into several enabling agreements that may be awarded to more than one bidder,” the company disclosed.

GDO operates the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, and Prosperity FPSOs offshore Guyana. According to the latest production figures, the vessels produced 122,000, 259,000, and 261,000 barrels of oil per day in April, respectively, supporting ExxonMobil Guyana’s operations in the Stabroek Block.

ExxonMobil serves as operator with a 45% interest. Its co-venturers are Hess, now part of Chevron, with 30%, and CNOOC with 25%.
