PARAMARIBO, SURINAME – TotalEnergies Suriname officially launched the EnergyJobs.sr platform on Thursday at the Assuria Event Center in Paramaribo, presenting it as a centralized online hub to connect Surinamese jobseekers with opportunities in the country’s expanding oil and gas sector.

The event drew a broad group of industry leaders and government officials, including Minister of Oil, Gas & Environment Patrick Brunings; Minister of Education, Science & Culture Dirk Currie; senior representatives of Staatsolie and multiple private-sector partners. A panel discussion on future workforce needs also followed the launch.

TotalEnergies EP Suriname (TEEPSR) General Manager Artur Nunes da Silva said the portal is designed to “open doors to opportunities” and improve access to information for both companies and talent. He noted that the platform had already registered 437 positions, including 244 onshore and the remainder offshore, with 142 vacancies active and open for applications as of launch day.

The portal is closely linked to the GranMorgu project, TotalEnergies’ planned development in Block 58. According to Nunes da Silva, jobs associated with the project and its contractors will be posted through the platform as recruitment scales up.

Hercules Medeiros, Field Operations Manager at TEEPSR, who led the technical demonstration of EnergyJobs.sr, explained that the website functions as a simple, central point of communication rather than a database that stores personal CVs.

Users can search for roles, review qualification requirements, and follow links that redirect them to each company’s own application portal. Tutorials are available for both candidates and companies, guiding users through job searches, applications and participation in the system.

“It’s really simple, and I expect that it’s going to be a really steady change for Surinamese that are looking for opportunities for oil & gas and energy sector in general,” Medeiros said.

The launch marks one of the first coordinated efforts to centralize workforce information as Suriname prepares for major offshore development.
