Subsea7 is positioning the Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA) as a core delivery model for offshore developments in Guyana, Suriname, and other deepwater regions, citing more than a decade of large-scale subsea execution under the alliance.

SIA is a global strategic alliance that combines the subsea engineering, construction, and installation capabilities of Subsea7 with the subsea production systems business of SLB. The alliance is structured to deliver integrated subsea solutions, covering field development planning, engineering, procurement, construction and installation contracting models, end-to-end project delivery, and full life-cycle support.

Speaking during a recent webinar hosted by the Energy Industries Council, Michael Gow, Subsea7’s Guyana and Suriname Country Manager, said the alliance was designed to handle complex offshore projects through a single, integrated framework.

“We’ve averaged over a billion dollars a year of work on this alliance for the last 10 years,” Gow said. He noted that Subsea7 and its alliance partner have now renewed their long-term commitment to the model. “We are now signed up to do another 10 years,” Gow added.

He said SIA has been deployed across multiple offshore regions, with completed alliance projects for ExxonMobil in Brazil and Ecuador. He added that the alliance is also active in Trinidad, where one project has been completed and another is currently underway.

In the Guyana–Suriname basin, Gow said the alliance is well positioned to support future subsea developments, particularly those linked to PETRONAS, which holds multiple offshore blocks across both countries. He said Subsea7 continues to work with PETRONAS on day-to-day activities while awaiting decisions on longer-term development contracts.

“We’re very hopeful that we’ll see multiple projects coming out of PETRONAS,” Gow said.

Subsea7 is active in Guyana and Suriname and is involved in subsea installation campaigns tied to major deepwater developments in the region.
