Halliburton will support Kuwait Oil Company’s (KOC) development of a new research and technology hub aimed at creating solutions for the country’s evolving oil and gas operations.
The multiyear agreement, announced by Halliburton on July 22, will see the U.S.-based energy services company provide technology solutions, engineering expertise and digital capabilities for the Ahmadi Innovation Valley (AIV), a research and development center focused on advancing upstream technologies.
According to Halliburton, the initiative will focus on challenges across brownfield, greenfield and unconventional fields, where operators face increasing technical complexity and the need for improved efficiency.
“Halliburton will deploy key technologies to execute a tailored program of projects and engineered solutions. Digital capabilities are central to the program, through the application of data, scientific analysis, and artificial intelligence for the full field lifecycle,” the company said.
Halliburton will also deliver a portfolio of projects tailored to KOC’s operational requirements while supporting the development of local technical capabilities.
The company said the hub will provide a platform for research, technology testing and commercialization, allowing solutions to move from early concepts into practical field applications.
Jeff Miller, Halliburton Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, said the partnership demonstrates a move toward greater collaboration between energy companies and service providers in developing new solutions.
“The AIV program represents a strategic national asset and marks a shift from traditional field services to the co-creation of technology and innovation. It further demonstrates KOC’s vision to make innovation a permanent foundation of Kuwait’s energy sector and positions the center as a platform for applied research and upstream technology development,” Miller stated.
Founded in 1919, Halliburton provides products and services to the global energy industry, supporting activities across the lifecycle of oil and gas assets through drilling, completion, production, and reservoir management solutions.
