Noble Corporation said it has been awarded a contract for utilisation of the Noble Discoverer offshore Colombia.

The award, made by Ecopetrol, is for the drilling of the Orca North-1 well in Q4, 2023.

The rig is currently under contract for drilling of the Wei-1 well in the northern section of the Corentyne Block offshore Guyana. CGX found medium sweet oil there but could not say whether it is commercial at this time.

Noble said it kicked off the implementation of its management system on the Discoverer, a Maersk vessel, after the merger. The Discoverer is the first of 18 Maersk vessels that need to be integrated.
