JHI Associates Inc. announced on Monday that it is entering its second season as an Official Sponsor of the Guyana Amazon Warriors. The Warriors will represent Guyana in the Hero Caribbean Premier League 2020 cricket tournament from August 18 to September 20 in Trinidad. JHI first joined the Guyana Amazon Warriors as an Official Sponsor for the team’s record-setting 2019 campaign.

JHI is a private, Ontario-registered company established in 2014 focused on oil exploration opportunities in the emerging Guyana-Suriname Basin. The company’s main asset is a 17.5% carried interest in the Canje Block covering over 4,800 square kilometres, offshore Guyana.

In addition to its direct support of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, JHI will also distribute a variety of supplies to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, which is impacting many across the South American country. JHI’s sponsorship of the Warriors is part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility in Guyana.
Subject to Guyanese government approvals, drillship availability and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is anticipated that the first well on the Canje Block, Bulletwood-1, could be spudded in H2 2020, with the possibility of additional drilling by the end of the year.
