Noble Corporation announced Friday the completion of its acquisition of Pacific Drilling Company LLC, effective on April 15, 2021.

Noble said Pacific Drilling’s high specification ultra-deepwater drillship fleet further enhances its global position as an owner and operator of one of the most modern and technically advanced fleets in the offshore drilling industry.

“I am very pleased to have closed this transaction quickly and am delighted to welcome our new employees, customers, and shareholders into the Noble family,” Robert Eifler, President and Chief Executive Officer, said. “This is an important step for Noble as we continue to strengthen our fleet and focus on delivering safe and efficient services to our global customers.”

The company currently operates four drill ships offshore Guyana – Noble Bob Douglas, Tom Madden, Don Taylor and Sam Croft – on contract with U.S. oil major ExxonMobil for its exploration and development drilling operations in the South American country.

Noble Corporation is also engaged in a commercial enabling agreement with ExxonMobil for drilling services in the Guyana-Suriname Basin.
