In a move to enhance the technical workforce in Guyana, El Dorado Offshore (EDO) and the New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This strategic partnership will center around offering technical education and career opportunities exclusively to NATI graduates.

During the signing ceremony at The New Amsterdam Technical Institute, Sherry Ferrell, the Local Content and Industrial Relations Director of El Dorado Offshore Guyana Inc., said, “We believe in the power of education and the transformative impact it can have on individuals and communities. This partnership with NATI allows us to contribute meaningfully to the region by creating career opportunities for their graduates and fostering the overall growth and development of our technical workforce.”

The MOU will remain in effect for one year and will be subject to renewal annually. Under the agreement, NATI will provide EDO with a list of their graduates from diverse technical fields each year, including Masonry, Furniture Making, Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Motor Vehicle Repair, Welding, General Office Administration, Data Operation, Renewable Energy – Photovoltaic, Technician Certificate in Architectural Drawing, Ordinary Diploma in Commerce, Administrative Principles & Practice, Diploma in Computer Science, Agricultural Machinery, Mechanical Fitting and Metal Machining, and Ordinary Diploma in Science.

EDO plans to make significant contributions to the career development of NATI’s students by offering workshops in resume writing and career planning. Furthermore, the company will support students placed with industry clients by providing necessary resources for training. Subject matter experts from EDO will participate in lecture series at NATI, delivering insights and exposing students to real-world industry experiences.
