The Errea Wittu floating production, storage, and offloading vessel (FPSO) is expected to be the largest unit in ExxonMobil’s offshore Guyana fleet. This was shared by Country President Alistair Routledge during a recent MODEC event.

MODEC is currently constructing the Errea Wittu FPSO for Exxon’s 5th development – Uaru.

“We look forward to…welcoming the impressive Errea Wittu…which will be when it arrives, the largest FPSO in Guyana. When it arrives, it will be quite majestic and aggressive basically, with the very latest technologies, including the five-cycle gas turbines, in our pursuit of developing resources with the lowest possible environmental [impacts],” he said.

Hull works, including partial module lifting and integration for the Errea Wittu, have been completed and the vessel is now in module integration and commissioning activities. Deployment to offshore Guyana will follow the completion of works in Singapore.

This would be MODEC’s first FPSO project for Guyana. It also copped a second contract to build an FPSO for Exxon’s Hammerhead project. All other FPSOs for the Stabroek Block have been built by SBM Offshore. Three are already in operation. A fourth is expected to start up in August.

ExxonMobil holds a 45% stake, with Chevron and CNOOC holding 30% and 25%, respectively.
