ExxonMobil says it invested US$204 million in 2025 across communities where it operates globally, with a strong focus on strengthening science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and workforce development.

The company shared the update on June 10 through its LinkedIn page, noting that the funding was directed through ExxonMobil, its affiliates, employees, retirees, and the ExxonMobil Foundation.

ā€œPreparing the next generation for future careers starts with expanding access to STEM education… In 2025, ExxonMobil invested US$204 million in communities where the company operates around the world, with a strong emphasis on expanding access to STEM education, building skills, and strengthening future workforce readiness,ā€ the company stated.

ExxonMobil said it works with educators, non-profits, and academic partners to help close the global STEM education gap.

In Guyana, the company is advancing a US$100 million STEM initiative designed to help build a skilled local workforce and support the country’s long-term talent development needs. 

The program includes teacher training beginning in September 2026, delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the University of Guyana, and the University of Houston, with a focus on improving math and science instruction nationwide.

It also expands student access through digital learning tools such as Khan Academy, STEM centers, and satellite learning hubs, including in remote and hinterland communities, with the first centre expected to open in Georgetown in 2029.
