The ExxonMobil Foundation (Guyana) STEM Inc. has issued a request for information (RFI) for staffing services for a planned STEM facility in Georgetown, the next step in a broader US$100 million education initiative.
The RFI, released on April 1, 2026, outlines plans to “put in place an agreement for the provision of staffing services for the Georgetown STEM Centre.”
Responses are due by April 30, 2026.
The facility forms part of ExxonMobil’s wider investment in science and technology education, announced by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Darren Woods back in February. The initiative targets teacher training, student engagement, and the development of STEM infrastructure.

According to the RFI notice, the process is being facilitated through the Centre for Local Business Development. Interested entities can access the RFI package, which includes scope and submission requirements, via the Centre’s platform.
The Georgetown STEM facility is expected to support long-term workforce development by strengthening technical education, with teacher training and student-focused programmes planned ahead of the facility’s completion.
The STEM initiative will begin with secondary school teacher training in math and science, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the University of Guyana. A student STEM facility is planned for the University of Guyana campus, with completion targeted around 2028–2029. The programme aims to train thousands of educators and reach tens of thousands of students.
