Traffic at the Guyana Pavilion at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) has been the highest ever to date, according to Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) President, Kester Hutson.
Hutson is leading a delegation of member companies to the highly anticipated event.
“In my assessment of the engagements of the companies visiting the booth…Guyana has been positioned to bring the highest attraction…the foot traffic was high this year and we continue to be elated by the level of interest,” he said.
Hutson explained that GCCI members there are maximising on this interest, forming connections that can potentially lead to partnerships back home.
“And for 95% of the companies [in the delegation], it is their first time so we are giving them the exposure and also promoting Guyana as the new frontier,” he added.
Guyana’s outstanding ascent in the global oil and gas industry is what has investors’ interest piqued. Its crown jewel is the Stabroek Block – where operator ExxonMobil has racked up a resource count of 11 billion barrels and counting.
Soon, Guyana will have three developments producing oil and gas, a fourth following in 2025, and a fifth in 2026.
This unprecedented growth and what Huston described at OTC tells only one thing: all eyes are on Guyana.
