ExxonMobil is continuing exploration drilling at the Haimara-3 well site in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana. The drilling, conducted by the Noble Sam Croft, will conclude on July 31, 2024, according to a notice by the Maritime Administration Department.

The Haimara-3 well site is located approximately 123.3 nautical miles (228.4 kilometers) off the coast of Guyana, covering an area of 0.29 square nautical miles (1 square kilometer). This site is one of two appraisal wells targeted at the Haimara gas field, discovered five years ago.

Haimara-1, Exxon’s 12th Stabroek Block discovery, was announced in February 2019. Exxon encountered approximately 207 feet (63 meters) of high-quality, gas-condensate-bearing sandstone reservoir. This significant discovery hinted at a potential new area for development, with possibilities for joint development across the nearby Suriname border.
