In a blow to Trinidad and Tobago’s energy sector, one of the major upstream natural gas suppliers has had to cease production due to an unexpected technical issue. The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad and Tobago issued a media release stating that the supplier is currently addressing the issue, which has resulted in a substantial reduction in the country’s gas supply.
The Ministry stated, “This unfortunate and untimely issue has led to a significant reduction in current gas supply which in turn has affected the end users of gas.”
The situation is being given urgent attention by the upstream gas supplier as it scrambles to remedy the issue.
“It is hoped that the situation will be resolved in the shortest possible timeframe,” the Ministry stated.
