Saipem and CNOOC are set to hold separate meetings with Guyanese businesses in June.

Saipem’s meeting is an information session for businesses to understand their contractual obligations. It is scheduled for June 20, at 10:00 am. Registration is active, with a deadline of June 19 at noon. Saipem is a contractor for ExxonMobil, instrumental to the subsea aspects of the oil developments offshore Guyana.

CNOOC will engage with its local suppliers in a virtual forum on Microsoft Teams. The one-hour engagement is scheduled for June 27 at 2:00 pm. The registration period is active, with a closing date of June 21.

CNOOC has a 25% stake in the Stabroek Block, where Exxon is producing more than 600,000 barrels per day (b/d) and is actively exploring to increase reserves.

In recent months, the Local Content Secretariat approved more than 35 Local Content Annual Plans for 2024. The plans include the companies’ intent to procure from, hire, and train Guyanese talent to support their operations. These include SBM Offshore, ExxonMobil, Guyana Shore Base Inc. (GYSBI), Saipem, CNOOC, and Halliburton.

Exxon will meet with its Guyana vendors as well, on June 19.
