ExxonMobil Guyana said a small fire was quickly extinguished aboard the Liza Unity floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel on Sunday.
“Heat detectors aboard the Liza Unity FPSO were activated in the laundry room of the living quarters, indicating a small fire, which was quickly extinguished,” the company told journalists.
The appropriate response procedures were initiated, and all personnel aboard the vessel are safe and accounted for, Exxon added.
Liza Unity is one of four FPSOs currently producing crude oil offshore Guyana. It operates at the Liza field and has a production capacity of about 270,000 barrels per day.
