The Nordic Zenith tanker has departed ExxonMobil Guyana’s ONE GUYANA floating production vessel with the second cargo of crude from the Yellowtail project, energy analytics firm OilX and other vessel tracking data showed.
The Suezmax tanker was scheduled by the Maritime Administration Department to load on September 6 and leave the offshore vessel on September 7, according to MarineTraffic. The ship is bound for Cartagena, Spain, where it is expected to arrive on September 19, according to tracking services MarineTraffic and VesselFinder.
The shipment follows a first lift of about 1 million barrels from the Yellowtail project to the Yuan Bei Hai, which sailed to the Netherlands, according to OilX. Yellowtail started production in August. The spacing between the first and second cargoes suggests Yellowtail is ramping up at a pace similar to the Payara project, which began output mid-November 2023 and reached its nameplate output in two months.
Guyana’s Ministry of Natural Resources said prices for Yellowtail’s Golden Arrowhead crude ranged between US$65 and US$69 a barrel between August 15 and September 2, similar to the country’s other three offshore blends – Liza, Unity Gold and Payara Gold.
Guyana’s oil exports have reached several destinations, mainly in Europe. The Netherlands and Panama have emerged as top recipients.
All projects in Guyana’s Stabroek Block are operated by ExxonMobil in partnership with Hess, recently acquired by Chevron, and China’s CNOOC. Output is ramping up and is expected to reach about 900,000 barrels per day by the end of 2025.
