Stena Drilling, operator of the Stena Carron and Stena DrillMAX rigs on contract with ExxonMobil for operations offshore Guyana, is seeking contractors to supply a range of services from the second quarter of this year.

“Food Services may be required to commence approximately Q2 2021,” Stena said in a notice. The company further stipulated that supply of “quality food products” should be procured locally, where possible, and meet all requirements of its crew.

Services also include supply of onshore transportation and handling of 8′ or 1O’ food containers, both dry goods and reefers. Containers should be certified to DNV 2.7-1 standard.

Contractors will also be required to provide certificates for all slings and lifting bridles to DNV 2.7-1 standard, Stena indicated.

The two vessels operated by Stena Drilling are part of a 6-rig drill fleet currently conducting exploration, appraisal, and development drilling activities for Exxon offshore Guyana. Additionally, the Liza Destiny FPSO is producing oil at the Stabroek Block. All these activities are being supported by several vessels moving supplies to the offshore operations.

The growing activities off the South American country’s coast will see demand for goods and services continue to increase in the coming years as more oil production vessels come on stream and drilling activities intensify.

Stena said the closing date for proposals is May 13. Bids can be submitted to [email protected].
