Trinidad and Tobago’s (T&T) Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley on Monday reassigned Stuart Young as Minister of Energy and Energy Industries. According to a report in the Trinidad Express, Young’s appointment is in addition to his duties as Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister.
Dr. Rowley also reassigned Fitzgerald Hinds as Minister of National Security and appointed Foster Cummings as Minister of Youth Development and National Service, the Express stated.
In a statement on Monday, the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago said Young has been deeply involved in the restructuring of the gas value chain over the past six years and has been central to many of the negotiations with the international operating companies in the sector.
Young’s reassignment to the energy ministry follows the passing of Franklin Khan who served in the role.
Khan died on Saturday from suspected heart-related issues.
