The Multipurpose Floater C (MPF C) Fast4Ward hull reserved by SBM Offshore for Suriname’s GranMorgu offshore development has been delivered, TotalEnergies announced. The hull was reserved in June last year. It was fabricated by China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI).
“We are thrilled to announce the successful delivery of the CMHI FPSO hull to GranMorgu Project. This marks a significant milestone. The coming year will now be dedicated to the modification of the hull to fit with our specific requirements, up to the final hull dry-dock planned mid-2026,” the company said.
The GranMorgu project, Suriname’s first offshore oil venture, holds an estimated 750 million barrels of oil. The production vessel is expected to produce up to 220,000 barrels per day from approximately 30 wells. First oil is expected in 2028.
The company expressed its gratitude for the support of key partners Technip Energies and SBM Offshore, acknowledging their ability and unwavering commitment to the project.
“Together, we are making remarkable progress and moving closer to our goal of delivering a state-of-the-art, carbon-efficient FPSO for the GranMorgu field,” TotalEnergies added.
