SBM Offshore’s multi-purpose deepwater construction vessel – the Normand Installer played an integral role in the installation work for Guyana’s second oil production vessel – the Liza Unity.

The Liza Unity floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel started oil production in February 2022; the vessel has the capacity to produce 220,000 barrels of oil per day and is set to achieve this target later in the year.

The Liza Unity arrived in Guyana in October 2021 and is the world’s first FPSO to be awarded the SUSTAIN-1 notation by the American Bureau of Shipping in recognition of the sustainability of its design, documentation, and operational procedures.
