Ever thought about what 21st-century Guyana would look like? Modern infrastructure, advanced technology, perhaps.
Whatever the vision, though, natural gas is expected to be at the center of it all, according to Senior Vice President for Deepwater at ExxonMobil Upstream Company, Hunter Farris.
“Gas development might be a further catalyst for building up 21st-century Guyana; the country’s gas discoveries could make Guyana a critical source of regional development,” Farris shared.
The company recently stepped into “a new decade” of its oil development in the Stabroek Block.
“…the next chapter will cover our partnership figuring ways to develop Guyana’s natural gas deposits,” he said.
Over the years, Exxon has discovered 17 trillion cubic feet of gas. And there could be more. Only time will tell as exploration efforts continue.
Guyana’s gas story begins with the Wales project. Then, also on the radar, are an Alumina Plant, Data Centers, and a Fertilizer Plant. There’s even an AI Data Centre planned.
Guyana is on a fast track to becoming a global energy powerhouse.
ExxonMobil plans to increase oil production in the Stabroek Block to 1.7 million barrels per day by 2030.
