Halliburton wins multiple Petrobras contracts for deepwater projects in Brazil

Halliburton has secured multiple contracts from Petrobras to deliver vessel stimulation, intelligent completions, and safety valve services across Brazil’s deepwater oilfields. The awards followed a competitive bidding process, the company announced on October 15. 

The U.S.-based oilfield services company said the contracts strengthen its long-standing collaboration with Petrobras and align with its global strategy to enhance asset value and operational safety through advanced completions technologies.

“In the Búzios field, Halliburton will deploy its SmartWell® intelligent completion technology to enable real-time reservoir management and actionable insights to optimize production,” Shawn Stasiuk, Senior Vice President of Halliburton’s Completion and Production division, said.

For the Séepia and Atapu fields, Halliburton will supply EcoStar® electric tubing retrievable safety valves (eTRSV) designed to improve safety and operational efficiency.

The company’s stimulation vessel, Stim Star Brasil, customized for Petrobras’ operations, will deliver engineered stimulation services aimed at boosting reservoir productivity and asset performance.

Halliburton said the contracts are expected to commence in 2026. 

Halliburton has been active in Guyana since 2015. The company has expanded its operations in the South American country, including establishing one of the largest mud plants in the hemisphere.
