Guyana’s Ministry of Natural Resources and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited are inviting applications for the next batch of students to pursue Geoscience and Petroleum Engineering scholarships in China.
Applicants must send a detailed CV and cover letter to [email protected] by March 28, 2025.
To qualify, students must have CSEC or CAPE (including Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) with Grade 1 or 2, or a Diploma in Science with at least a 3.0 GPA. The qualifications must have been obtained within the last three years.

Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old and hold a valid Guyanese passport. A Chinese Language Certification (HSK3 or HSK4) would be an advantage.
Only shortlisted candidates will be interviewed.
CNOOC is a 25% stakeholder in the prolific Stabroek Block.
Guyana has collaborated with numerous universities and corporations to provide scholarships to Guyanese nationals, aimed at addressing the country’s significant skills gap.
