Noble Corporation says its Noble Sam Croft rig has achieved record performance in Guyana following a major upgrade earlier this year. In a LinkedIn post on October 14, the company announced the success of its collaboration under the Wells Alliance Guyana.
“In June 2025, the Noble Sam Croft completed an out-of-service period to upgrade its drilling package, transforming it into one of the most technologically advanced rigs in the world,” Noble said.

After returning to operations, the rig executed a 26-well open water campaign in just 86 days – an average of 3.2 days per well. “That’s an improvement of 0.5 days compared to the previous campaign’s 3.7-day average,” the company stated.
Noble attributed this achievement to close teamwork within the Wells Alliance Guyana, emphasizing, “Success in this industry demands creative thinking, strong leadership, and resilience. But true excellence emerges when teams collaborate and drive innovation together.”

The company underscored that its gains in speed and efficiency were achieved safely. “Speed and efficiency only matter when they occur in alignment with safety,” Noble said, noting that rig innovations now remove employees from hazardous environments and create consistency across crews.
According to Noble, the results show that collaboration “can redefine industry standards”, proving that the strength of alliance-driven operations continues to power success in Guyana’s offshore sector.
