Dutch floater specialist, SBM Offshore, expects sustained demand for large and complex floating production vessels, identifying at least 16 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel prospects over the next three years.
The outlook was shared during the company’s 2025 full-year earnings released on February 26.
Chief Executive Officer Øivind Tangen said, “For the next three years, we see at least 16 FPSO prospects aligned with the company’s expertise in large and complex FPSOs, including projects requiring high gas handling capacity.”

The company said it is well-positioned in what it described as a robust deepwater market, with opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic basin.
SBM Offshore is currently progressing three major projects: FPSO Jaguar for ExxonMobil in Guyana, FPSO GranMorgu for TotalEnergies in Suriname, and FPSO Chalchi for Woodside in the Gulf of Mexico. Two additional Fast4Ward® multi-purpose floaters are under construction to support its tendering pipeline, with options for further hulls available at three yards.
The fleet increased to 16 FPSOs in 2025 after three units became operational within six months. Total daily production reached almost two million barrels of oil equivalent at the end of the year.
