Subsea7 has secured a substantial contract from Noble Energy EG Ltd, a subsidiary of Chevron, for subsea installation work on the Aseng Gas Monetization Project offshore Equatorial Guinea.

Subsea7 classifies a substantial contract as one valued between US$150 million and US$300 million. The award, announced April 1, covers a single-well tieback linking the Aseng field to the existing Alen platform as part of efforts to monetize gas resources in the area.

Subsea7 said the scope includes the transport and installation of about 19 kilometers of rigid production flowline and 20 kilometers of umbilicals. The work also involves associated subsea structures and tie-ins in water depths of around 800 meters.

David Bertin, Senior Vice President for Subsea7’s Global Projects Centre East, addressed the award, stating, “This award represents an important milestone in our ongoing global relationship with Chevron.”

He added that the company has operated in Equatorial Guinea for nearly two decades, supporting offshore construction and inspection, maintenance and repair activities
