Pursuing an aggressive drill campaign, Stabroek Block operator – ExxonMobil – has moved on to the Banjo-1 and Sailfin-1 wells as it looks to find more oil offshore Guyana.
According to notices published by Guyana’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) over the weekend, the Banjo-1 well site is situated approximately 93.4 nautical miles (173 kilometers) off the Coast of Guyana and covers an area of 0.29 square nautical miles (1 square kilometer).

On the other hand, MARAD said the Sailfin-1 well site is situated approximately 115.5 nautical miles (214 kilometers) off the Coast of Guyana and covers an area of 0.29 square nautical miles (1 square kilometer).
The MODU Noble Stena DrillMax will be engaged in the drilling activities on Banjo-1 and the MODU Stena Carron for Sailfin-1 – each with the assistance of 26 supporting vessels.
Drilling activities at both well sites are scheduled for the period between September 12 and November 30, 2022.

Already, ExxonMobil has discovered close to 11 billion barrels of oil within the Stabroek Block.
ExxonMobil is currently engaged in a 25-well exploration campaign. That drilling campaign is expected to conclude in the first half of 2023, after which a 35-well campaign is expected to commence.
