SBM Offshore is seeking to hire Guyanese fabricators once again to support the construction of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for another ExxonMobil development at the Stabroek Block.

Guyana Deep Water Operations Incorporated, an affiliate of SBM Offshore, has issued a request for information (RFI) to capable suppliers. The RFI specifies the need for Guyanese companies to undertake the design, manufacture, and supply of structural steel fabrication services for the Jaguar FPSO.

Major local content milestone for Guyana as FPSO fabrication work being done in country

Key requirements include a proven track record in steel structure fabrication and the availability of appropriate facilities equipped with necessary machinery and equipment within Guyana.

The Jaguar FPSO designated for the Whiptail project is designed to produce oil at 250,000 barrels per day (b/d), with capabilities for gas treatment of 540 million cubic feet per day and water injection at 300,000 b/d. The FPSO will be spread-moored in water depths reaching approximately 1,630 meters and capable of storing approximately two million barrels of crude oil.

This would be the third FPSO to be outfitted with locally fabricated steel.

The Prosperity was the first; with Industrial Fabrications Incorporated (InFab) and Guyana Oil and Gas Support Services Inc. (GOGSSI) fabricating over 50 tons of steel structures.

The ONE GUYANA was the second, with another company ZECO joining the ranks. Altogether, local companies have secured orders to fabricate over 200 tons of steel structures for that FPSO.
