The final investment decision for ExxonMobil Guyana’s Hammerhead development is expected to be made by mid-year 2025, its President Alistair Routledge announced today.

“This is subject to us completing the full environmental permitting process and the production license process,” Routledget said, giving updates at the Guyana Energy Conference day two.

The Hammerhead Development Project is ExxonMobil’s seventh offshore oil project within the Stabroek Block area. It is targeting production of approximately 150,000 barrels of oil per day (b/d). Once this project comes online in 2029, subject to regulatory approvals, Guyana’s total offshore oil production capacity is expected to surpass 1.4 million b/d.
