SBM Offshore has opened a request for information (RFI) for companies capable of providing 3D survey, piping fabrication, installation and mechanical services for its offshore operations in Guyana.
The contracting opportunity was published on August 7 by the Centre for Local Business Development (CLBD) on behalf of Guyana Deep Water Operations Incorporated (GDO), an SBM Offshore subsidiary responsible for operating the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, Prosperity and ONE GUYANA floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels in the Stabroek Block.
The scope also includes “3D laser scanning and site surveys, the fabrication, modification and repair of piping systems, structural steelwork, equipment supports, platforms, walkways, handrails and ladders.”
Contractors may also be required to provide heavy lifting, rigging, equipment change-outs, flange management, machining and other specialist mechanical services for maintenance, shutdowns, turnarounds and life-extension projects.
All bids are due on September 6, 2026.
SBM Offshore said all work must comply with applicable safety, regulatory and company standards and include quality control, inspection, testing and documentation to support long-term asset integrity and operational reliability.
The company noted that Local Content remains a consideration in its procurement process. Where bidders are technically and commercially comparable, preference will be given first to companies that meet the definition of a Guyanese company under the Local Content Act 2021, followed by Guyanese-owned companies registered in Guyana.
