RelyOn Nutec, a Denmark-based provider of rescue and safety training services, is set to open its inaugural facility in Guyana, targeting the first quarter of 2024. This development comes as part of a joint venture with Atlantic Marine, a fully owned Guyanese company certified by the Local Content Secretariat. The new training facility will be located in Houston, Guyana.

Specializing in preventing accidents and injuries, RelyOn Nutec offers a range of training services. These include safe conduct and survival skills, competence management, crisis management, and various online courses. These programs cater to employees in high-risk industries such as oil and gas, maritime, and renewable energy.

Lancelot Gordon, the Business Development Manager at Atlantic Marine Group of Companies, related the news during a press tour of the Houston facility. He stated, “RelyOn Nutec is a globally recognized entity in offshore training and certification. Their expertise extends to certified offshore trainings, including Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (T-BOSIET) and Shallow Water Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) Initial Deployment Training.”

Gordon noted that there is collaboration with RelyOn Nutec’s operations in Trinidad to bring this facility to Guyana. “Once commissioned, we’ll offer offshore courses and trainings like TBOSIET and confined space courses, covering all requisites for personnel working offshore,” he added.

This venture marks a major step in enhancing the safety training landscape in Guyana, a spill-off of the country’s growing high-risk oil and gas sector.
