DOF Group ASA has secured a large turn-key contract from MODEC Guyana Inc. to carry out mooring pre-lay work for the Hammerhead floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) project offshore Guyana.
The company said earlier today (January 19) that its North America subsea team will deliver in-house project management, engineering, procurement, logistics base support, transportation, and offshore installation.

The scope includes pile installation using the Skandi Implementer and mooring line installation using the Skandi Skansen.
Offshore execution is scheduled for the second and third quarters of 2027.
Chief Executive Officer Mons S. Aase said the award reflects growing recognition of DOF’s integrated capabilities.
“I am pleased to see how DOF is increasingly recognized as global turn-key contractor combining our in-house expertise in subsea and mooring installation with the top of the class assets,” Aase said.
The work will support MODEC’s Hammerhead FPSO development in Guyana’s offshore basin, as activity continues to build around future production projects in the country.
The Hammerhead Development is ExxonMobil’s seventh offshore oil project in the Stabroek Block. It is expected to produce about 150,000 barrels of oil per day when operations begin in 2029, pending regulatory approval.
Once online, Hammerhead will push Guyana’s total offshore production capacity above 1.4 million barrels per day.
