The hull block for Guyana’s Errea Wittu floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) has been completed.

“We are proud to share that the FPSO Errea Wittu has achieved another significant milestone. We successfully completed the hull block assembly 40 days ahead of the original schedule,” MODEC said in an announcement on LinkedIn.

The vessel is currently under construction at a shipyard in China and is expected to start oil production in 2026.

“This is another remarkable achievement and reflects our commitment to our client ExxonMobil Guyana and the entire Guyanese community,” MODEC added.

ExxonMobil hired MODEC to deliver the FPSO for the fifth Stabroek Block oil development offshore Guyana. MODEC said the Errea Wittu FPSO will be one of the most sustainable FPSOs in the world.

The Errea Wittu FPSO will develop the Snoek, Mako, and Uaru fields. The vessel is expected to target an initial oil production rate of 250,000 barrels per day. MODEC will also provide Exxon with a decade-long service for operations and maintenance of the FPSO from its initial oil production.
