The American Association of Petroleum Geologists’ (AAPG) Latin America and Caribbean Region will be staging the 2021 “Caribbean Technical Symposium and E&P Summit: Recent Activity and Exploration Opportunities” on September 14-15.

The 2-day virtual event combines two of the AAPG LACR’s most successful formats, a technical symposium including presentations and Q&A with industry and academic experts studying regional geology and hydrocarbon potential, and an E&P Summit featuring panel discussions with industry executives representing operators working actively in Caribbean Basins.

The Technical Symposium on September 14 features a series of multidisciplinary presentations and interactive discussions on the Tectonostratigraphic Framework and Petroleum Systems of the Caribbean. The in-depth information presented provides valuable information to geoscientists of all experience levels and helps to explain why the basins have such great potential.

The executive-level E&P Summit on September 15 includes as series of operator panels highlighting current activity and future plans for exploration in Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago and an additional panel with ministries and regulatory agencies, who will discuss contractual updates, bid rounds and local content.

“The insight and discussions presented provide great benefit to investors, new business professionals and anyone interested in working in Caribbean Basins,” AAPG said.

Featured speakers include officials from ExxonMobil, Hess, Repsol, Staatsolie, among others.
