ExxonMobil Guyana Limited (EMGL) is conducting a Local Market Condition Survey to assess the capabilities of local suppliers for fabrication, machining, and repair work.
The company in a public request for information said the survey aims to identify qualified suppliers who can handle tasks ranging from low to high complexity in the Georgetown area.

The scope includes a variety of work, such as low complexity tasks like non-load bearing steel and handrail fabrication, medium-complexity work such as pump refurbishments and carbon steel pipe fabrication, and high complexity projects, including load-bearing steel fabrication and exotic material pipe fabrication.
ExxonMobil said suppliers must demonstrate their ability to meet industry and international quality control standards.

They must also ensure quality control for different steel grades to prevent cross-contamination. The work may be carried out directly for EMGL or through prime contractors within the local market.
The search for suppliers capable of meeting these specifications aligns with Exxon’s long-term objectives for the Guyanese energy market.
Local companies are already providing fabrication services for FPSOs, on contract with both SBM Offshore and MODEC. Just last week, SBM Offshore held a steel strike ceremony for the Jaguar FPSO for which three local firms are fabricating over 300 tonnes of steel.
