ExxonMobil Guyana has won the Corporate Citizenship Award from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), the company’s President Alistair Routledge said on Tuesday in a LinkedIn post.
“ExxonMobil Guyana Ltd exemplifies ethical leadership, strong corporate governance and meaningful community investment, making it a deserving recipient of the Corporate Citizenship Award,” the chamber said in remarks shared by Routledge. “The company has invested significantly in education, youth empowerment, STEM initiatives, and women’s development, while supporting health, environmental and disaster-relief programs across Guyana.”

The award comes as ExxonMobil and its partners ramp up oil production offshore Guyana, where the U.S. major operates the Stabroek Block. Guyana’s oil production capacity surpassed 900,000 barrels per day this year following the start-up of the Yellowtail project, Routledge said, four months ahead of schedule.
He also pointed to ExxonMobil’s final investment decision on the Hammerhead project, which will become the seventh development in the Stabroek Block.
Routledge thanked ExxonMobil employees and suppliers supporting the Stabroek Block developments, saying he was “proud to be part of the ExxonMobil Guyana team.”
ExxonMobil is the operator of the Stabroek Block with a 45% stake, alongside Hess and CNOOC.
