GCCI elects new council, President to be determined in a week

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) hosted its 131st Annual General Meeting (AGM) via the Zoom and Elections Runner digital platforms today. During the course of this exercise, the election of a new council was undertaken.

“I would like to thank all the members of the GCCI who participated in this process, thank the 2020-21 Council and congratulate the newly elected 2021-22 Council,” Executive Director Richard Rambarran said in a comment.

Outgoing President of the Chamber, Nicholas Deygoo-Boyer delivered his final report at the AGM which also saw a special message from Guyana’s President, Dr. Irfaan Ali and remarks being delivered by Minister of Tourism, Oneidge Walrond.

The new Council will move within a week to elect the new President of the Chamber.
