Guyana publishes final model contracts for new licensees

Guyana’s Ministry of Natural Resources published the final model contracts to be awarded to winners of its first offshore licensing, on Jan. 26. 

The contracts are expected to be applied to eight blocks – two deep water and five shallow water – to be awarded. Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat told OilNOW, “This will be used to issue any new license.”

The winners of the first licensing round are as follows: 

S4 – TotalEnergies, Qatar Energy, and Petronas 

S3 –  Sispro Inc

S5 –  International Group Investment Inc. and Montego Energy

S7 – Liberty Petroleum Corporation and Cybele Energy

S8 – ExxonMobil, Hess, and CNOOC

S10 – International Group Investment Inc. and Montego Energy

D1 – Delcorp Inc., Watad Energy and Arabian Drillers

D2 –  Sispro Inc. 

Contract signings are expected in the first quarter of 2024.
