Guyanese businesses interested in tapping into the oil and gas sector or already operating in the field may find the news of an upcoming Feedback session hosted by ExxonMobil Guyana Limited (EMGL) most welcoming. This virtual meeting which will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 9:00hrs, aims to focus on reviewing Requests for Information (RFIs) issued between January and June 2024.

Clarification sessions like this provide businesses and individuals with a much-needed understanding of procurement methods within the sector. Persons may not have to actively participate but listening to the information provided serves as a great resource.

A meeting of this nature will surely prove beneficial for local businesses. Presuming that businesses undergo sufficient training to provide services within the industry, it will be a significant step in broadening the scope of work required by the Guyanese vendors. When considering the benefits of this meeting, the possibilities to build capacity for businesses that may be unsure of how to access the industry come to mind.

Being part of this meeting will give Guyanese-owned businesses either operating or looking to operate in the oil and gas sector a clearer view of the documents needed, the type of business support they can provide and further clarifications that might otherwise be difficult to ascertain. Businesses may go into this meeting mostly excited for the question-and-answer segment when they will get to raise questions pointing to the aforementioned queries and get immediate responses and guidance. This will be a great benefit for the local businesses.

With the registration for this meeting already open and expected to close on December 3, Guyanese business owners should definitely grasp this opportunity to learn and better understand the inner workings of service provision for the oil and gas sector.
