Heritage Petroleum Company Limited has unveiled its latest offshore oil well, S-938.

Situated within the Soldado East Field, the said S-938 well is poised to make a substantial contribution to the company’s revenue with an expected average daily rate of 500 barrels of oil per day (b/d), according to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Energy Chamber.

The commissioning of S-938 is the third well to be put into production as part of Heritage’s Offshore Drilling program. Drilling reportedly commenced in August 2023, followed by design and engineering efforts, culminating in the completion of the topsides in March 2024.

Erik Keskula, Heritage’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed gratitude to the company and contractor personnel for their dedicated efforts in safely delivering this new production to Trinidad and Tobago.

Keskula stated, “Over the next month, we will operate the well with a goal of optimizing fluid production rates to maximize oil recovery and cash flow.” He also stressed the strategic significance of S-938 in Heritage’s drive to deliver new offshore wells and facilities to augment production.

Heritage foresees continued benefits from S-938 and three additional wells slated for commissioning in the coming months.
