Ramps Logistics Guyana has made its second attempt at gaining local company status from Guyana’s Local Content Secretariat (LCS) with a new application.
The company said that the new application to the Local Content Registry submitted on July 14, included the nine items the first application lacked.
“We would again like to thank the Officials at the Local Content Secretariat for responding to our request and outlining the additional information needed to meet the requirement for entry into the Local Content Registry. We look forward to continuing working with the Secretariat and resolving all issues,” Ramps said in a release.
Ramps was told by the LCS that the onus is on it, as an applicant, to submit documents that are not false or misleading, after holding a press briefing to ascertain why its first application was denied.
A source at the Secretariat indicated that Ramps did indeed make misleading submissions in its bid to be added to the Register, which is punishable by a fine of GY$10 million under section 23(3)(a).
The company then endeavoured to adhere to the requests made by the LCS in its bid to be placed on Guyana’s Local Content Register.
