SBM Offshore Guyana is seeking suppliers for recruitment, crewing, and technical assistance services to support its offshore operations in Guyana, according to a Request for Information (RFI) published through the Centre for Local Business Development (CLBD) on May 29.
The RFI was issued by Guyana Deep Water Operations Incorporated (GDO), a subsidiary of SBM Offshore and operator of the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, Prosperity, and ONE GUYANA floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessels offshore Guyana.

According to the document, the company is seeking “technical and operational information from suppliers capable of recruiting and providing crewing services.”
The scope includes recruitment support for areas such as information technology, supply chain, HSSE, engineering, construction, and human resources.
Under the requirements, suppliers must be able to provide technical assistance services while ensuring compliance with Guyana’s labor laws, tax regulations, social insurance obligations, and other municipal requirements.
“The selected supplier will be responsible for the recruitment and selection of contractor profiles according to specified requirements for the relevant services, present shortlisted candidates and facilitate communication between candidates and the company regarding technical interviews, job offers, etc., and complete background checks and medicals for all contractors hired,” the RFI stated.
SBM Offshore stated that Guyanese content remains central to its operations. “Guyanese content development is the key factor to the success of our operation,” the company noted in the RFI.
The company added, “It is our commitment to long-term sustainability to create social and commercial benefits back to Guyana whenever possible without jeopardizing the HSSE & Quality of the products and services to be delivered as well as for our crew and facilities.”
The RFI process is intended to help SBM Offshore identify qualified bidders before launching a formal Request for Quotation process. The company also noted that services may eventually be divided into multiple agreements awarded to more than one supplier.
Interested companies are required to submit documents by June 29, 2026. SBM Offshore recommended that suppliers register with the Centre for Local Business Development to access clarification sessions and future opportunities.
SBM Offshore is one of the main FPSO operators supporting ExxonMobil Guyana’s Stabroek Block developments, which have transformed Guyana into one of the world’s fastest-growing oil producers.
