Strohm has been awarded a contract by TotalEnergies EP Brasil to supply TCP Flowlines for an offshore field in the Santos Basin, part of the Brazilian pre-salt region. This contract, according to the company, is the largest commercial award for pipe supply in Strohm’s 16-year history.

The TCP Flowlines, designed for installation at a depth of 2,200 meters in 2026, offer a 30-year design life and are immune to corrosion, including Carbon dioxide-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC-CO2). This innovation provides a long-term, low-carbon footprint solution for TotalEnergies.

“The award of this contract marks a major step change in the offshore industry and at Strohm we are immensely proud to be the first company to provide a TCP Flowline to TotalEnergies in Brazil for use in ultradeep water,” Renato Bastos, Vice President Brazil at Strohm.

Thomas Leize, Project Manager at TotalEnergies, added, “It will be the first project like this in the pre-salt and we have carefully selected this innovative technology for replacing the flexible lines in operation with a clear focus on design life, performance and carbon footprint.”

The TCP Flowline, with a 6-inch inner diameter and 600-bar design pressure, will be used for gas injection. Its installation will utilize standard pipelay support (PLSV) vessels currently operating in Brazil.

Martin van Onna, Chief Executive Officer of Strohm, expressed his gratitude to TotalEnergies, saying, “As the pioneer of TCP technology, we have experienced strong support from TotalEnergies since as early as 2009. Recently TotalEnergies installed a TCP Jumper at the Egina field, and now we welcome this TCP Flowline contract – the ‘definitive solution’ that the industry has been seeking.”

Strohm said its TCP technology is known for its robustness, corrosion resistance, and low-carbon footprint. The flowlines are manufactured and shipped in long continuous lengths, allowing for efficient installation using common horizontal lay methods.
