Touchstone Exploration Trinidad Ltd has completed one of its largest logistics operations in recent years, Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries said on Friday, as the company moves to boost gas output from its Cascadura field.

The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries said the operation involved the transport of oversized equipment from the Port of Point Lisas to the Cascadura site in Rio Claro. The cargo included units measuring more than 50 feet in length and 15 feet in height, requiring specialist haulage and route control.

The equipment is part of Touchstone’s latest investment in the Cascadura field and is expected to increase gas production by reducing wellhead pressure and improving operational stability, the ministry said.

Ramps Logistics coordinated the transport on behalf of Touchstone, working alongside port operator PLIPDECO and other stakeholders. Energy Minister Roodal Moonilal visited the port during the operation and met with company officials.

The ministry said the scale of the logistics exercise reflects continued investor confidence in Trinidad and Tobago’s energy sector and demonstrates the capacity of local service providers to execute complex logistics operations.

Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean’s major gas producers, has for years faced declining output, weighing on industrial activity and government revenues. The government has been seeking to revive upstream investment and bring new projects online to stabilize and increase gas supply, which underpins much of the country’s economic health.
