A Guyanese rescue swimmer was part of a multinational crew that carried out a medical evacuation offshore Guyana on May 24, following a suspected cardiac emergency aboard a vessel, according to Omni Helicopters Guyana Incorporated.
The company said the patient was safely transferred to Ogle Airport for continued medical treatment after the offshore extraction was completed.
According to OHI Guyana, the Guyanese rescue swimmer played a key role during the hoist operation.
“This mission was made possible by a highly coordinated, multinational team: two Brazilian pilots, one British hoist operator, one Trinidadian paramedic, and one Guyanese rescue swimmer, whose expertise during the hoist operation ensured a safe recovery,” the company stated in a LinkedIn post published May 25.
Omni did not indicate the name of the Guyanese rescue swimmer.
