T&T Energy Ministry to investigate rig collapse that left worker missing

Pete Phillip, a worker attached to Well Services Limited, is missing after an incident at Rig 110 within the Heritage Offshore East Field of Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday morning. T&T media is reporting that the rig collapsed.

The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries said it will appoint a team to conduct a detailed investigation and produce a comprehensive report.

All other workers were evacuated. Well Services said 75 personnel were onboard at the time of the incident, with one worker injured and receiving medical care, Trinidad Express reported.

Energy Minister Stuart Young visited Trinmar Marine Base to be briefed on the incident management and offered words of support to the missing man’s family, the Ministry said.

The Ministry also had a team on the ground monitoring the response operations yesterday, alongside teams attached to the Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA), Well Services Limited and Heritage Petroleum Company Limited.
